Joey is an Australian Shepard Mix, at 3 years old he was left on the steps of a
shelter with a note and a pregnant female companion. The female and puppies were
placed almost immediately, but Joey was not used to people and terrified of his
new surroundings. He growled and snapped at the people at the shelter, which made
him less adoptable. He was destined to be put down.
Lucky for Joey, a kind and wonderful foster family took Joey in. They saw past his
issues and knew he was a sweet and loving dog. This family worked diligently with
Joey, socializing him, and giving him basic training and discipline.
When his rescue family met him, he was shy, but well-trained and very loving. It
was love at first site! Joey is now 10 years old and full of personality! A stranger
is just a new friend he greets with a wagging tail and nose nuzzles.
He is adored by everyone who meets him.
